"God' Son" came out in 2002, and it was the sixth album from the Queensbridge, New York rapper, Nas. It came directly off his future classic, "Stillmatic" and unfortunately soon after the death of his mother (who acted as inspiration to some of the work here. It also marked a time where his beef with Jay-Z was still around its peak,so the material reflects this too. 1. "Get Down" Kicking the album off you here a clear shift in the direction of the rapper as he has an Old School feel to his material where he utiliseslots of James Brown and does a Soul-based recording to make for a good opener to this record. ... Nas - God's Son Nasir Jones, known as Nas (Niggers against society as he tells us) released this album in 2002. This was album number 6 and he had alredy had significant sucess in the US especially with his first album Illmatic. This album is quite a paradox for on the one hand he is obnoxious giving it some real traditional hip hop arrogance, and yet there is significant depth in this album too.
