Even the ardent Gogol Bordello fan would probably admit that the charismatic and genius Eugene Hutz's vocal chords can become a little irritating after a while and in this album which sees him share vocals duty the strain is relived so we really see the best of him and get some variation at the same time. This is upbeat joyful music with catchy lyrics that make an impact and give a bit of order to a wild fusion of music styles.

New York was at the forefront of the punk scene and has also had a major part in Balkan punk, whilst Gogol Bordello vs Tamir Muskat is far from ethnic gypsy music and far from punk, it encaptures both attitudes in one whilst blending it with a wild mix of electronic and dub music. It may take a few listens to really get in to it but once you do, you'll be sure it's the best electronic music you've ever heard (along with Max Pashm).
