Advantages: Humourous Raps, Well Produced.
Disadvantages: None
This is Biz's first album and was originally released in 1988 on Cold Chillin' Records (at the time, home of Big Daddy Kane and MC Shan).
This is a good album, Biz displays his humours approach to rap and his talent as a beatboxer. The whole album was produced by legendary hip-hop producer Marley Marl. The album peaked at number 90 in the US top 200 billboard chart and number 19 in the US R&B/Hip Hop album chart.
Pickin' Boogers is the first song on the album and lets the listener know what Biz is all about very quickly. This is a fun Hip Hop track detailing Biz Markie's love of boogers and how they have multiple uses; such as placing them in peoples food. Lovely.
The other stand-out tracks on this album is Vapours (probably his second best known track after Just A Friend from the album The Biz Never Sleeps) and Make The Music With Your Mouth Biz (a track where Biz Markie's talent as a beatboxer comes to the fore.
Overall, this is a classic album and clearly deserves its place in The Source's top 100 Rap albums.
Summary: This is a fun, party hip hop album.
