This one will test out whether your woofers are up to it, and it is also quite likely to help you ascertain whether you have any loose fillings as well. Because the throbbing bass sounds of this languid rub a dub dub summertime work out by faceless cartoon characters (sorry CHARAKTERZ) are everywhere, creaking the speakers in your car, wobbling your floorboards and rattling your windows. In theory, this always makes for a good idea, but doesn't always come up with the goods in real life. I am still pretty much at a loss to know whether Gorillaz actually makes any sense, but it certainly is different in a world of S Club 7, Five, Blue and the like. ... Read the complete review

Popular music has always been afflicted by the curse of the Engineered Band. Beautiful people Superglued together in an unholy union with the express aim, the vain hope, of creating the next Big Thing. And also a few million bucks. It happens. A lot. And the uncomplicated buying public love listening to the Pot Noodle sounds that result. Keeping the charts crammed with high kicking and higher cheek boned, thrusting bosomed, fake tanned, recyclable plastic people and their deliciously disposable tunes. That's not a bad thing. If they didn't, I'd not be able to adopt the posture of a pretentious twat who thinks it's cool to listen to ... Read the complete review

This is a highly unusual album from my point of view. Personally most of the albums I buy have been out for months, and quite often years, but for some reason I felt the need to buy this on the first week of release. This is basically Damon Albarn's (of Blur fame) and Jamie Hewlett (cartoonist, did Tank Girl??) pet project. They roped in a few more people and the result is an "animated super group". Without a doubt their videos are stunning and give all members an altered ego, which brings the interesting question of what live performances will be like. The whole album has a relaxed tone, there are a couple of guitar bits though ... Read the complete review

GORILLAZ is the title of indie rock group GORILLAZ album. The album features 16 tracks. The opening song RE-HASH is a fast paced song with good lyrics that flow alongside the melodies with a catchy chorus that drives towards the finale. 5/4 gets better the more times you hear it with a slow start which is brought to life by the instrumental work with the guitar on fine form at the chorus. TOMORROW COMES TODAY has some mellow vocals which contain wonderful harmonies that drift at the chorus though come back at full force at the finale. NEW GENIOUS is full of vigour and contains alot of energy throughout the song with decent ... Read the complete review

This is the first virtual band to release an album and I have to say that their music is better than some real artists like Craig David or Britney. (Sorry picking on Britney again) The virtual band consists of four vital band members and they are; 2d, Merdock, Noodles and Russel. You may recognize 2d’s voice. In fact it’s Damon from Blur singing. How strange don’t you think? I didn’t hear about their album form any friends or from the TV, but I thought I’d buy it because I really liked their first song Clint Eastwood. I liked this song because it was different to other songs out at the time, plus it had been made by a band ... Read the complete review
Products similar to Gorillaz - Gorillaz
The Scream - Siouxsie and the Banshees
Original for its time, highly influential
Certainly not to everyone's tastes.....
Ten - Blitzkrieg
The band comfortably integrates into the nineties.
Later songs sound similar.
Teknowhore - Bile
More atmospheric and compelling than the previous album.
Some bizarre commercial deviations that don't sit well, and generally overlong and tedious.
Seventeen Seconds - The Cure
A couple of the songs don't stink... um...
Robert Smith was trying to be clever in his sparse instrumental arrangements and it back-fired!
Sex Reflex - Bile
May have made Krztoff some more money.
Alienates more serious fans.
Nightmare Before Krztoff - Bile
Fills in what was missing with the predecessor.
Still repetitive and often tedious.
Grind Bastard - Benediction
Catchy, riff-driven death metal, with some interesting classic rock/metal covers.
Sound is repetitive, and the album perhaps lasts a little too long for its style.
Faith - The Cure
The Cure's strongest set of songs when released, great arrangements for the most part
Primary and Doubt, while not bad songs, stick out artistically
Demonic Electronic - Bile
The return of the darkness and evil.
Not as varied as previous works.
Copy Machine - Bile
You may know the original songs...
...but these covers are nothing special.
