A LITTLE DEATH AROUND THE EYES is a tune with a corking intro which continues to impress from the guitar while the vocals are fair in enhancing the volume.
SALOME has a weak start and the chorus is slightly lacklustre although the lyrics are good.
I AM THE RAIN is a mellow tune with some sweet melodies that are relaxing to listen to.
My favourite song on the album is SWEET BY AND BY which features Doherty's vocals on fine form matched by the guitar work which excels. The lyrics are gentle while the smoothness...more |

GRACE/WASTELANDS is the title of former BABYSHAMBLES' member PETER DOHERTY's indie rock album. The album features 12 tracks and a bonus DVD. The opening song ARCADY is a strong starter with some wonderful guitar work aided by lovely lyrics. Doherty's vocals are a bit wobbly, but create a unique sound which is enchanting. LAST OF THE ENGLISH ROSES is a sweet song with beautiful lyrics that flow along with the vocals and the perfect melodies guide the rhythm to its finale. 1939 RETURNING features lyrics on the war and is a heartfelt song full of emotion especially in the vocals that warble to great effect providing a feel good ...
