The Black Album - Prince
by tattat - written on 03/06/01 (Somewhat useful, 377 readings)
Rating:
last great album Prince produced before his sharp decline in the 90s. Even thoough I still avidly buy just about anything the purple one releases, he has yet to regain his quality of output achieved in the 80s. From the great slow funk of its opening track, through rap, industial rock, jazz and even a ballard, every track is ...
1999 - Prince
by loulou6 - written on 24/08/00 (Very useful, 61 readings)
Rating:
album that shot Prince into the big time and into my heart all because of one of the century's most played songs ~ the excellent '1999', which is still as fresh as the day it was born. This album is truly brilliant and showed the first real signs that Prince was going to become a megastar, the CD goes from the ...
Around The World In A Day - Prince
by BlueAngel - written on 21/11/00 (19 readings)
Rating:
but did little to enhance Prince's reputation on the majority of the record buying public. Special mention should be made of 'Paisley Park', the real hippy sounding tune of the album, 'The Ladder', a gospelly epic song that only Prince could seem to get away with and the hauntingly weird yet beautiful 'Condition of the Heart'. This isn't Purple Rain II but a new look on life. Not for everyone's taste though. ...
Products similar to Graffiti Bridge - Prince - Sou...
The First Four Years - Black Flag
Affordable and convenient repackaging of earlier EPs.
Short, without much in the way of original material.
Slip It In - Black Flag
More talented playing from Greg Ginn, and a more consistent album from the band.
Not as experimental or ground-breaking as previous works.
Sex Starved - Batmobile
More consistent and level-headed.
Tendencies towards silliness still ruin things.
My War - Black Flag
Even more experimental and talented than the previous album.
Second half may seem a little dull.
In Control - Nemesea
Sound like Evanescence/Lacuna Coil
Album is too short
Buried Alive - Batmobile
A commercial release of old demos and rare live material for the fan who has to have everything.
Inferior sound quality and some bad experiments, but at least they're trying.
Bail Is Set At Six Million Dollars - Batmobile
Further psychedelic elements...
...but very few.
Bambooland - Batmobile
Traditional rockabilly with a few psychedelic leanings.
Too traditional to be of any real interest.
Amazons From Outer Space - Batmobile
Defines the band's style.
Still too many elements of traditional rockabilly and country for the songs to stand out.
Blasts From The Past - Batmobile
Generous serving of songs.
No new material, and a lot of repetition.
