Breathless - Kenny G

Rating:
The first time I ever heard of Kenny G was on the Steve Wright show.He was doing a review of the Breathless album and played a few tracks for the listeners to hear for themselves. At the time I thought mmm very nice but nothing spectacular. Coincidently, A few days later my sister came round to visit. She had been to see Michael Bolton and Kenny G was also on the bill. Well she was absolutely raving about Mr G more so than Michael Bolton himself who she had originally gone to see in the first place! Breathless - Kenny G

this album, along with most of his other mainstream albums contains a couple of vocal numbers in a soul-style. One cannot fail to feel just ever-so-slightly sentimental when listening – a rare ...

Classics in the key of G - Kenny G Well, as promised, it is time to review some jazz, but for those detractors, I ll start with smooth, then will gradually work up to (if Dooyoo accept some of my suggestions) to some nice hard jazz, swing and bebop. Kenny G is a very interesting saxophonist, not least in that he does not fit the mould of a classic jazz saxophonist; in fact many jazz fans are ardently NOT Kenny G fans. He looks more like an 80 s prog rock star, all long perm and casual clothes. In addition he is much too smooth for many jazz fans, you are certainly more likely to hear Kenny g in the lounge of a hotel than you are Albert Ayler or Ornette Coleman. His ...

Great performance spanning the band's entire career, with all the live favourites.
