Rating:

Ministry hit the big-time with Psalm 69, and whilst that is a fantastic album which has been much duplicated by shitty techno-metal bands since, Filth Pig captures the unapologetic ugliness that Al Jourgensen's work has always promised. Denounced by some as unlistenable, unlike the majority of Ministry's previous output Filth Pig ...

Filth Pig - Ministry

Premium Review Welcome to the Fall (587 words)
by Ian Proudfoot - written on 13/12/00 (Very useful, 22 readings)

The first thing you notice about Filth Pig is that it all seems a lot slower and heavier than previous Ministry releases. Where as the bulk of Psalm 69 seemed to ...

Psalm 69 - Ministry

Premium Review Al Jourgensen build my stereo (489 words)
by Ian Proudfoot - written on 29/11/00 (Very useful, 36 readings)
Rating:

you can blame The Beatles for Oasis, for a succession of sub standard metal bands suddenly using samplers and dance beats in their music. Whilst the classic Ministry album The Land of Rape and Honey had been a truly innovative and groundbreaking combination of industrial electronica and thrash metal, Psalm 69 sees Ministry increasing the guitar quota and dropping the electronics into the background. Although not as initially as thrilling as Land of was Psalm 69 stills packs a killer punch and contains some classic Ministry songs. It kicks off with the incredible N.W.O in which a slamming rhythm meets thrashing guitars and the sampled voice of George Bush promoting ...
