First things first - tracklisting - 1. Your Song 2. Daniel 3. Honky Cat 4. Goodbye Yellow Brick Road 5. Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting 6. Rocket Man 7. Bennie And The Jets 8. Candle In The Wind 9. Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me 10. Border Song 11. Crocodile Rock This is a record from when Elton John was an artist who actually meant something. Hiding behind outsized and outlandish glasses, and even more over the top clothes, the one time sombre balladeer who toiled for ages in Tin Pan Alley, generating failed attempts at Eurovision winners, discovered the States in the early 1970's and with it ...

This is an album that I often play as there really are some great classic tracks on it. Most of this music is what I believe made Elton John a true super star. Overall the mood of the music is slow and sometimes quite emotional and so it tends to be an album I play late at night. As most of the tracks are also very well known it does mean that I often sing along. (If I am in the house alone!) There are ten tracks on the album: Your Song. This is a great way to start this superb album. This song is so full of emotion and deep feelings that this is a track that everyone will know, who has ever listened to any of Elton’s music. ...

Premium Review Greatest Hits - Elton John: The perfect Intoduction to this Rock Icon (163 words)

If you are a seasoned Elton fan or just someone who wants to be introduced to his music, this is the perfect album. Of coures, it doesn't have all of his best songs and similarly, there may be a few that you wont like but overall this gives an excellent representation of what you can learn to expect - and love - from any other Elton John albums. It takes a while to listen to the whole lot but persevere as you may be surprised how much you like some of the lesser known Elton songs. If you decide you like what you hear, then another Elton John album i would suggest is Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. Also, try and get hold of a copy of the recording of his recent gig in ...

The vocals are excellent, the guitars possess great power. Too many of the tracks here are incredibly instrumentally repetitive.

frollicing, guitar pop, nice vocals slow songs, tacky melancholy pop moments

Title track is excellent, three-piece is incredibly tight. Second half becomes repetitive.

Some good hardcore-thrash crossover stuff, and interesting new material. Comedy songs are a bit rubbish, and some of the covers too basic.
