      Very helpful

      Good stuff

I Am a massive fan of R&B and have been for as long as I can remember, I have also been a fan of Joe for a while now and some of his greatest hits are amongst my favourite R&B songs of the last few years and if you are a fan of Joe then the chances are that you will love many of these songs too. The Greatest Hits album spans 11 years and five studio albums with no tracks featured from his debut album "Everything" from 1993. It was the first compilation album from Joe and was also his final release on Jive Records before his Record Label move to Kedar Entertainment of the Universal Group which he moved to in 2010.

      **Greatest Hits**

The album was released on 13th October 2008 and features some of his best material with collaborations with G-Unit and also Mystikal and a track with Big Pun. The album contains tracks from his first six albums which were as follows. "Everything", "All That I Am", "My Name Is Joe", "Better Days", "And Then..." & Finally "Ain't Nothin' Like Me".

      1.) Beautiful

This is an excellent opener which is a great example of Joe's vocal ability. His laid back vocal really shines with an effortless feel. The track is about when you are in love with someone and you think they are beautiful inside and out. The gentle piano tones add a really nice feel with the catchy beats and the sweet backing vocals. This is a good start to the album and a great example of Joe's talent. It's not one of the most well known tracks on the album though.

      2.) Don't wanna be a player

This track was taken from his 1997 "All that I Am" album and is another excellent track, It has some catchy beats and nice hooks along with some flowing lead and backing vocals. This track is about settling down with someone after a period of playing the field. Joe shows off his vocals with some excellent powerful parts which show off his range well. This is a smooth and relaxed ballad which has some excellent licks and is a very good track.

3.) All the things (your man won't do)

This is another track taken from the 1997 release "All That I Am". It's an excellent track about loving someone who is already in a relationship and promising to treat them better than their current partner will if she feels the same way. This is an excellent ballad with some fine smooth vocals and gentle music which adds to the emotive feel. The track has been featured on a number of R&B compilations and it's not hard to hear why when you hear the fine vocals and the excellent feel of this ballad.

      4.) I Wanna Know

This is taken from his 2000 release "My Name is Joe". It's a lovely ballad which features gentle guitar and a catchy flowing beat with Joe's relaxed and expressive vocals backed with some smooth backing vocals. This is one of his best tracks and it has also been featured on numerous R&B collections. Joe sings about wanting to know what his partner is feeling and to be able to make them happy once he knows what she wants. An excellent track.

      5.) Good Girls

Another track taken from his 1997 release "All that I Am" this is a laid back track with an early 90s vibe. Joe's vocals are expressive and very strong. This track is about having failed relationships and looking for the good girls that always seem to slip through his fingers. I think people can relate to this track after a serious of failed relationships that haven't ended well. This is an example of Joe's great vocals with some expressive tones and some powerful licks.

      6.) Ride Wit U

This is a change of pace with a funky mid tempo track which features G-Unit. The track was taken from the 2003 release "And Then....", It's a flowing track which sees Joe's vocals shine alongside the rap vocals from G-Unit. Even though I am not a fan of G-Unit This is a surprisingly laid back track which works well. This track shows that Joe can do more than just the ballads with a catchy mid tempo track with some excellent beats and hooks.

      7.) Still not a player

This is an excellent mid tempo track with some catchy beats and hooks, it's the collaboration with Big Pun and the rap vocals of the latter combine well with Joe's great falsetto and laid back croons. It's a catchy and melodic track which has some excellent vocals from Joe which again showcase his vocal and musical range blending well with the Hip Hop style beats and hooks and with the rap vocals from Big Pun who may have seemed an odd collaborator for Joe Thomas.

      8.) Stutter

This track was taken from the 2000 release "My Name is Joe" the track is a fast paced Joint which features the rapid fire rap vocals of Mystikal who raps an angry tirade on this track about confronting a partner after finding out they are cheating on you. This is an excellent collaboration which shows the talent of both artists. There is another version of the song but this one was chosen for the Greatest Hits release. I prefer this one too.

      9.) Love Scene

This is a gorgeous ballad with Joe's vocals really shining, He shows off his delightful falsetto here on this ballad about getting it on with that special someone. It's an ideal Bedroom track. The track was featured on the 1997 album "All that I Am". Joe's backing vocalists are really on form on this track with some delightful backing vocals. This is up there with his best tracks and really showcases his vocal talent and his talent for the way he structures a song is also evident here. This is a really excellent ballad.

      10.) All That I Am

This is a gorgeous ballad which is the title track from his 1997 release. It's a laid back track with gentle acoustic guitar and strings and soft percussion and beat. The lovely laid back vocals sing about devoting yourself to someone. This track really shows the effortlessness of his voice as he shines with a simple yet very effective vocal. This track is one of the best on the album and is rightly held in high esteem by his fans as it's a really great track.

      11.) More & More

This is an excellent track which was taken from the 2003 release "And Then...." It features crashing drums and soft reggae like guitars with Joe's vocals sounding smooth and relaxed on this bedroom track which is works very well indeed. I like the combination of different beats which combine well to add something extra to the song. It's an impressive track which is ideal for a romantic night in with that someone special. An excellent track with Joe's vocal power soon evident.

      12.) Priceless

Another one taken from the 2003 release, this is another excellent track. It opens with a spoken part form Joe and then the punchy beat kicks in with gentle percussion and keys. Joe's vocals are expressive and smooth on this track about how much you love someone and want to be with them. I like the way Joe expresses on this track and he showcases the vocal ability he has with some great vocal licks towards the end and a natural relaxed vocal throughout. Excellent stuff.

13.) If I was your man

This is a catchy ballad with heavy drum beats and gentle keys, it is taken from the 2007 release "Ain't nothin Like me" and the track is about being sorry for the way you treated someone and begging for forgiveness and another chance even with them having moved on and with someone new. A common issue and dealt with well here. Joe's vocals are natural and flowing. This is a very decent track that showcases the laid back vocals from Joe.

      14.) Let's stay home tonight

This is a catchy mid tempo ballad to end with, It was featured on the Better Days album which was released in 2001. It's a track which showcases Joe's vocals well with some expressive tones which show his power and some tender moments which showcase his natural and laid back vocal. This is a decent track which has a really catchy feel and ends the album well.

This album was his first greatest hits release and showcases his excellent vocal ability and also his talent for crafting a song. There are some great tracks on the album and some really classic tracks which are loved by many. I would recommend this album for anyone new to Joe and wondering what he is all about. So if you are intrigued by Joe then give the album a listen and then maybe start looking and listening to the studio albums. On this evidence and his continuing albums since he certainly will have another excellent Greatest Hits album in a few years time, perhaps further enhancing his R&B Legacy.
