Greatest Hits Of The 80s: A Decade Of Great Hits

With so many eighties compilations on the market, this one seems to fall somewhat wide of the mark, offering a paltry ten songs. Ten. Yes ten. This seems rather poor, considering most eighties albums offer at least twenty tracks. Anyway, let's see what it has to offer. Highlights The track choices are rather predictable. with the opening track 'Take My Breath Away' by Berlin. This is one of the giant eighties power ballads which calls to mind Tom Cruise in Top Gun. Pleasing vocals and an enticing melody help, but the song has dated quite badly. Why is it scary???? This compilation 8 CD box set has got so many tracks on it that if you grew up in the 80's it'll be like going back in time when you put this on - which is scary when you think that some of the tracks on here are 20 years old! It's advertised on the TV for something stupid like £30, but we managed to get it from our local Virgin shop a while ago for £14 - a bargain! There's all sorts of stuff on here, like The Flying Pickets (Whatever happened to them??) and Culture Club, Madonna, Mel & Kim, Kajagoogoo (who?!), Leo Sayer - god the list just goes on and on.
