Following a string of hit singles, successful albums and all-round fame, former Take That star Robbie Williams felt the time was right in 2004 to release a greatest hits album. And who could begrudge him it? Since leaving Take That Robbie Williams has gone on to have a successful solo career despite vthe problems with addiction, depression and falling out with his record company. This Greatest Hits album is a great one to have a sing a long to in the car or when getting ready for a night out however I find that there is a marked difference in quality between the first half of the album and the second half. Most if not all artists will at some point release their greatest hits, some sooner into their careers than others. Robbie Williams was one of those who released theirs quite early but he did have enough great and good tracks to fill a greatest hits album without resorting to lesser tracks. Old before I die was originally from his debut album and has stood the test of time very well, it has very good lyrics and is easy to listen to and sing along with.
