One of my favourite Swedish pop groups. It is a shame they never achieved the same level of success in the UK as they did overseas. This album gathers some of their biggest hits.

Who are they:

Origanally designed as a spin off teenage version of Abba (covering Abba songs) the group changed their name from Abba Teens to A-Teens and started exploring their own material. Marie Serneholt, Amit Paul, Dhani Lennevald and Sara Lumholdt are the four vocalists.

On this album:

Their version of 'Mamma Mia' is more dancey than the original. Sqeaky clean vocals from the girls, a pounding beat and furious synths drive it. It is a pleasing take on the song and a good way to open the album.

Highlights:

The bouncy pop of 'Upside Down' will thrill you. The kind of song you could imagine S Club doing. It has a solid gold pop chorus and is one of those tracks which will put you in a good mood. I rate 'Floorfiller' which sounds like a Backstreet Boys number. A chanty chorus with plenty of attitude and a backing vocals which encourage you to chant along. Again, this is insanely catchy.

The pinnacle of the album is 'Perfect Match' where the boys and girls share vocals. This is an upbeat number with one of the best pop choruses in pop history. Think of the buzz you get from your favourite pop song then multiply it by a million and you still won't come close to how exciting this song is!

Avoid:

'Sugar Rush' is just too sickly and not as joyous as some of the other songs. It plods along and lacks energy.

Overall:

Sixteen tracks, including a handful of Abba covers. Their own material is much better though and it is shame they never made it big here. The artwork is great, with a glossy booklet.

Summary: just brill
