Advantages: Uplifting and Inventive
Disadvantages: A couple of fillers
The first 2 Super Furry Animals albums - `Fuzzy Logic` and `Radiator` - were both excellent, inventive and refreshing. `Guerilla` follows this trend, a really uplifting and intriguing CD from one of the most experimental bands around at the moment. The single `Northern Lites` is one of the best summer tunes ever written, and the rest of the album lives up to this. Songs like `Where I Lay My Phone` are simply not like anything else around at the moment, and it's so refreshing to hear compared to the tired 60s copying bands like Ocean Colour Scene etc. The lyrics are not exactly hugely deep, but they are fun and off-beat - Gryff Rhys really must be on something! Compared to other Welsh contemporaries - Sterophonics and Catatonia - SFA are a breath of fresh air. Guerilla is one of the most fresh and quality albums around. Go get it!
