A Guide To The 'Guitar Town' by Steve Earle
WHAT IS IT
Guitar Town is an 11 track album offering from 2002 - by American country singer-songwriter Steve Earl
WHAT DOES IT DO?
Highlights from the Album Include;
The title track 'Guitar Town', with it's catch melody and almost Duane Eddy (remember him -lol!!) style low guitar rif, with tremelo effect (an effect that was built into some -especially older - amplifiers; where the volume is turned up and down so quickly that it produces a really pleasent rythmical sound).
... and the beautiful 'Someday' -which blends an hard strummed acoustic guitar with an overdriven electric one -while Earl's poignent lyric sits on top of the guitars pulling everything together wonderfully.
There are a few not so reat moments, but these are few and far between. I recommend Steve Earl's album; great songs, meaningful lyrics and a bit (but not too much) of a country twang make this album a bit of treat!!
Hope you found my review of some help, and good luck with your bargain hunting!!
Best wishes,
Brett
Summary: I like it, I like it a lot!
