Gogol Bordello - Gypsy Punks (Underdog World Strike) Gogol Bordello are most probably unlike any other band out there at the moment. This is for so many reasons. They were all living in America, but the majority of band had drifted there from around the world. The first of the members got together after attending a Russian Wedding in America in 1998, and have never looked back. There are roughly 9 assorted musicians in the collective (to call it a band would make it sound far too conventional), and they specialise in their own invented genre of Gypsy Punk. Gypsy Punks Underdog World Strike is probably Gogol Bordello's most well known album and it's certainly the most organised of the albums and probably the best one to date actually. Released in October 2005 by Side One Dummy, it's there 3rd album. Starting off with the manic "Sally", before moving to the upbeat "I Would Never Wanna Be Young Again" and the quirky eclectic anthem "Not a Crime" which sounds like Dillinger being held hostage by drunk KGB officers, then it moves on to the simple but effective "Immigrant Punk" which could easily be The Clash, then on to Go Revolutions which has a slight Manu Chao sound at the ...
