The verses are empowered and the chorus is bouncy and fancy enough to make you want to jiggle to it. Her take on 'I Don't Feel Like Dancing' is ghastly though, as a whiney vocal tries to sound like Jake Shears and badly back...more

Premium Review Handbag Heaven - Back To Bitch - Jackie 'O': Jackie Proves She Is Indeed What She Says On The Cover (340 words)

Rating:

It is perhaps worrying that I know someone who looks the woman on the front cover, only that the person I know is a bloke. Jackie O' is a regular on the Almighty label, delivering her brand of infectious pop dance covers. This album might have a dubious title, but it does have two discs of tracks, with the second disc containing a sixteen minute megamix. Jackie unleashes 'Let Me Entertain You' with a small flourish. Good backing vocals here and a decent enough beat, but she sounds like a man in drag singing. The chorus has oomph though and there are parts where she sounds like Cher, which I guess is quite fun. A number of excellent tracks are present here, the choruses always are absolutely fantastic. A couple of filler tracks.

A fantastic album full of greatly appealing and highly fun tracks. You may find yourself listening to this album far too excessively.

Unique, great tracks and length, original Not really the sort of thing you want little children to listen to

A good story-like trip with some outstanding tracks A few mis-placed and weaker tracks must be put up with

Good track selection, unusally for EMI If you're not already a fan, you may not enjoy it

Amazing mellow, jazzy sound with subtle vocals May be tough to get- shop around

Seasons Of Tragedy - Benedictum
Modern heavy metal in the classic style, without sounding dated. Nothing new here.

Outside Inside - Blue Cheer
Heavy Metal - 2008

Mafia - Zakk Wylde & Black Label Society
A little less derivative of Ozzy Osbourne. Hardly any songs stand out from all the filler.

Final Fantasy - Battle Arrange: The Black Mages - Soundtrack
Fun for Final Fantasy fans who also like rock music. Only for the game's fans, and the concept loses its novelty after a while.

Bloodrock - Bloodrock

Bedtime Prayers - Blinded Colony
Might be exciting if you've never heard the bands it's clearly ripping off. Nowhere near the level of its influences, and far too repetitive.

Atomic Arena - Barren Cross
A fine metal performance in the classic style. Suffers from many drawbacks of the eighties.

A Day Of Nights - Battle Of Mice
Emotive and intense post-metal with a great performance from Julie Christmas. Becomes repetitive and a little tedious, causing the effect to diminish.

1919 Eternal - Zakk Wylde and Black Label Society
More Zakk Wylde for modern Ozzy Osbourne fans. All very similar and uninspired.

Drawing Down The Moon - Beherit
Another entertaining early black metal album with classically awful production values. Most songs sound pretty much the same.
