The song utilises all the voices from the guys which gives it a balance. I think it has dated, but the production remains intact and vibrant.
I am less keen on 'Hangin' Tough' which is too pseduo tough, with angry sounding raps and a brassy and annoying chorus to boot. It is one I choose to gloss over.
'Please Don't Go Girl' is a sufficient enough ballad, with a high pitched vocal and a predictably sickly set of lyrics to go with it, it is a song to play when you are about to be dumped or in...more |

Here is an album which will bring back many fond memories for some people. The joys of hearing these angelic voices again is always a pleasure. New Kids were at the height of their fame in the late eighties and early nineties. This is their debut album and has some top notch singles on it and some not so bad album fillers. Highlights: 'You Got It (The Right Stuff)' is all good fun with a chirpy catchy chorus and plenty of chord changes to keep the song sounding fresh and alert throughout.
