After UK Garage displaced Trance (which before took over US House) as the country's dance genre "flavour of the month", the clubbing sector of the nation was left wondering what was, this time going to overthrow The Artful Dodger and co. and their abysmal two-step lark. Those in the know correctly predicted a turn in the sense that dance music as we know it, was, on the whole going to get a lot more faster and "bangin'". Indeed they were right; and while the next successor of the dance scene (Progressive House) is already being "groomed" for stardom with the likes of Joshua Ryan's "Pistolwhip" and Rui Da ... Hard House Nation was great but the sequal to it, Hard House Nation 2 is even better! I bought this two weeks ago and haven't stopped playing it. It is mixed by Andy Farley, and my favorite lady, Lisa Pin-up, who I had the pleasure of playing with at a local miss moneypenny event 2 years ago. Lisa Pin-up is one of the best miers on the scene, her compilation is a mix of commercial and underground vocalisitc hard house. Andy Farleys compilation is big and bad, real hard house and trance, with some excellent white labels too. The Shadow's Madame - Cadaveria
Frank Booth's catchy guitars keep things entertaining.
Cadaveria's vocals aren't exactly phenomenal.
Seventh Coming - Cathedral
More accessible.
Repetitive.
Necroticism - Descanting The Insalubrious - Carcass
Perfect fusion of Carcass' two eras, with excellent and ferocious musicianship.
Longer songs may deter some.
My Passion Your Pain - Callenish Circle
Reminds you how good Dark Tranquillity used to be.
Dark Tranquillity are still doing an adequate job of that without these guys' help.
Memphis May Fire - Memphis May Fire
Some decent Post-Hardcore music with elements of rock thrown in for good measure.
Quite generic in sound, provides nothing particularly new to offer to the genre.
Heartwork - Carcass
Pioneering work of melodic death metal.
Disappointingly commercial after previous efforts.
Graceful...yet Forbidding - Callenish Circle
Excellent guitar performance.
Otherwise standard melodic death metal fare.
Far Away From Conformity - Cadaveria
Cadaveria can sing!
Frank Booth has run out of ideas.
King Of The Grey Islands - Candlemass
Still on top form, the band's finest album since the eighties.
Prevalence of filler material.
Blue Miasma - Krieg
Atmospheric.
Slow and dull.
