Advantages: SAME JEANS

Disadvantages: STREET LIGHTS

HATS OFF TO THE BUSKERS is the title of Scottish indie rock band THE VIEW's album.
The album contains 17 tracks.

The opening song COMING DOWN is a fast paced track with great energy and superb instrumental work particularly from the guitar that provides an extra edge.

SUPERSTAR TRADESMAN is a mellow track with strong vocals and lyrics that tell a good story.

My favourite song on the album is SAME JEANS. The song has a corking intro which has a fast paced beat and excellent guitar and drum work with a powerful finish and catchy chorus.

DON'T TELL ME has a weaker intro though gently drifts to the chorus which is energetic and sung with vigour.

SKAY TRENCHY featured lots of Scottish vernacular in the lyrics which was hard to depict, but still sounded cool with the guitar excelling towards the finale.

DON gets better the more you hear it with a sublime chorus that creates a feel good factor.

FACE THE RADIO had some decent lyrics that were aided by the beautiful melodies that accompanied it.

WASTED LITTLE DJS and DANCE INTO THE NIGHT were two decent songs though nothing more than album filler.

GRANS FOR TEA was a peculiar song lyrically though had a bouncy rhythm and a positive vibe which will have you on the dance floor especially at the chorus.

CLAUDIA is sung with heartfelt emotion and contains lyrics with genuine emotion.

STREET LIGHTS i wasn't so keen on as it lacked the energy of previous songs and had a weak intro.

WASTEBAND also felt a bit flat with the vocals hard to decipher and sounding off key.

TYPICAL TIME reverts back to the vocals back on top form with a unique sound and the instrumental work breathing new life especially at the chorus.

The last three tracks on the album POSH BOYS, SKAY TRENCHY and SAME JEANS are live performances from the group that are lively and highlight that they can sing.

Overall, this is a solid album. Most of the tracks have decent lyrics and good vocals. Because of their strong Scottish accents sometimes it's difficult to understand the lyrics. However, the instrumental work makes up for that as it's full of vigour and the mixture of slow and fast songs is encouraging.

Avaliable from AMAZON at £17.09, you should take a VIEW.
