Rent - Soundtrack

As a massive fan of the film I absolutely adore the soundtrack. A big part of the film's appeal to me is its soundtrack. I'm not going to do a song by song evaluation for this album; as it clocks in at thirty-eight track long I'll be here forever. What you will find on this album is all of the songs from the movie, pretty much as they appear in the film. A few sound a bit more polished, but the majority of them sound like they were lifted right out of the film. There are a few extras here, for example the song Halloween, which was taken out of the film. Goodbye Love also appears on the soundtrack in its full incarnation rather than the truncated version seen in the film. ...

melody and good lyrics. Ooooo tingle down my spine! Track 9: Lalita Walks Away This track is a bit of a mix as it contains Various sections that were used in different parts of the film. The first section is used for one of the film s most poignant moments - Lalita walking away from Darcy, hence the title. It features an Indian woman s voice, a sitar and a violin. It then changes and goes a bit techno with some electronic Indian percussion. Then everything goes calm again and the Take me to love tune is played softly by piano and guitar, before it changes gear once more and sounds a bit Mike Oldfield!
