 ... There's a focus on heavy drumming and the songs tend to be fairly traditional poppy numbers with the simplicity of a Ramones song but perhaps without the catchiness. There's a bit of an 80s glam metal feel to the music and at other times they also sound like L7, fortunately they are a bit better looking! Lyrically, it's all a bit too simple - for instance "You're an amazing son of a bitch" is repeated over and over again on "son of a bitch" - hardly classic songwriting. Civet were recently supporting The Dropkick Murphy's in Warsaw and whilst working out whether or not I wanted to go to the concert, I decided to check their latest album out - Hell Hath No Fury, released last year, it's a lively album by the American girl punk band. The gravelly and coarse voice of singer Liza Graves is pretty rough but certainly adds a distinctive flavour to Civet's fast brand of punk rock. There's a focus on heavy drumming and the songs tend to be fairly traditional poppy numbers with the simplicity of a Ramones song but perhaps without the catchiness.
