Originally released in 1998 through Capitol Records, 'Hello Rockview' was Less Than Jake's fourth studio album and was a fantastic follow up to the 'Losing Streak' album which was released in 1996. The album contains fourteen tracks, the most well known of these probably being the single 'All My Best Friend's Are Metalheads' which had its video played on music television. The album is packed full of fantastic material, an album which I have played many times over the years. One of the most attractive qualities about the music of Less Than Jake is their drumming, and this is something which comes across exceptionally well in this release I feel. The album ... Less than Jake are the type of band that will cheer you up no matter what. If you're in a mood, sad or just a bit down, then run down to your nearest record store and get this! The tunes are happy and catchy, without being cheese or sellouts. 'All my best friends are Metalheads' was being played all over radio 1 in the summer, and we can see why! It just screams summer with your mates. They do use trumpets and the like pretty often which, I have to admit, can get slightly tedious after a while. I think it comes with the equally amazing Losing Streak which is maybe a little more rocky. @Richard Allen George - no it's just cheez' is a really funny true ... Read the complete review

I have to say this is my favourite kind of music and I love bands like Five Iron Frenzy, Mad Caddies, Catch 22 and Less than Jake. I can't understand why there are not any ops on any of them except than Less Than Jake because there should be. Having gone to Deconstruction2001 and met up with Catch 22 I felt inspired to write some opinions on Ska to get the word spread. Looking at my albums I thought I would write one on Less than Jake and on one of my favourite albums by them called Hello Rockview. I prefer this album because I think it is the one where the singer uses his voice to its full potential. The albums consists of 14 fast and upbeat ... Read the complete review

Hello rock view was the third studio album released by the American ska punk band Less Than Jake. I think it was actually the first album I heard them do and off the back of this it made me want to get their older albums as well as buy their newer album releases in the future as well. The first song is last one out of liberty city, at first with the bassline it almost sounds like its going to be a hard punk song however then the trumpets and the other ska instruments kick in and it becomes a much more fun song. Its still a fast but it's a very up beat song with great instruments all the way through. Help me save the youth on America I perhaps my ... Read the complete review

Jess Than Jake are another one of those punk rock bands that your Mum would hate. Hello Rockview is one of their most easily findable albums – according to their official website (www.lessthanjake.com) they have 76 releases not including compilations – and was originally released on Capitol records. The version I have is actually a double CD which includes Losing Streak, an earlier release. I’m only going to review Hello Rockview here, because there should be a separate category for the other album… The first thing to note is the great liner notes - the lyrics are laid out in the style of a comic strip and it's one of the most well ...
