This is status quo - hello ! 12 bar boogie at its best Many quo classics can be found on this classic quo album which was originally released in 1973 Following on from its predecessor piledriver , hello offers and delivers exactly what by then the audience had come to expect from a quo album , heads down and no nonsense with a quiet track or two thrown in for good measure. Performer – Status Quo The Album – Hello. Originally released in1973 on Vertigo. LP 6360 098 De Luxe CD 848 172-2 For this one you’ll need a broom handle. Forget the tennis racket because you’ll break it. Oh yes! Slip the disc on the death deck and whilst it’s loading, take up the stance. That’s it, legs apart, head down, broom handle slung low. Got it? Good. Now press play and prepare to shunt. If someone where to ask me to list the sounds that would sum up the English, ‘Hello’ would be on the list. ‘Hello’ is Status Quo at full tilt and at their best. They’ve never bettered it and, for that matter, ... Read the complete review
Products similar to Hello - Status Quo
With Fear I Kiss The Burning Darkness - At The Gates
Excellent guitar and drum performance, high in energy throughout.
Chaotic structure is problematic and detracts from the enjoyment.
Unquestionable Presence - Atheist
Tight performance without excess.
Too unpredictable for some.
The Doomsday Machine - Arch Enemy
A heavier sound than its predecessor, and the return of great guitars.
Most songs still fail to make the grade, and Gossow is worse here than ever.
Terminal Spirit Disease - At The Gates
Superb vocals, and lyrics, great song structure and hugely atmospheric
Quite short, though bolstered by some great live tracks.
Loser - Ayreon
A great song from the new album, and a nice take on the older 'Castle Hall.'
Central two songs are fairly poor.
Dead Eyes See No Future - Arch Enemy
Unique material, with some interesting covers.
Live versions are a little disappointing, and the Megadeth cover is terrible.
Come Back To Me - Ayreon
First song is fun, in a silly sort of way.
B-sides aren't particularly good, and one of them is despicable.
Burning Japan Live - Arch Enemy
A nice range of songs from the first three albums.
Too early for a live album, and there's nothing particularly exciting about it.
Astralism - Astral Doors
A more energetic take on the Astral Doors sound.
Subject matter feels a little too arbitrary.
A Celebration Of Guilt - Arsis
Inventive and excellent melodic death metal.
Lack of variety for those used to the Gothenburg scene.
