... soulful song with lyrics of desperation and a sense of total alienation from those around him. Although it has sadness it fits perfectly amongst the Beatle mania of the album. George Harrison, a pure, imaginative, thoughtful and silent hero takes his place like in all Beatle albums where he may have one (or two) tracks and very little else. We hear him singing a wistful, calm, melodious 'I Need You.' (It has to be mentioned that not all the tracks from the album appeared in the film.) In comes Paul at 'number four...more

Premium Review Help! - The Beatles: The best charity record (1451 words)

The Vast majority of Charity records are absolute garbage!! That’s not to say that I don’t buy them, it’s a good cause after all, and at the time they sound alright or maybe even amusing but do you listen to them a couple of years down the line – I think not. What sets the HELP project apart is the quality of the music; recorded in 1995 this cd features the cream of both indie rock and dance from that year. The cd was recorded at the height of the Balkans conflict, which even now still hasn’t been resolved, and the proceeds from this cd went to the War Child charity. The charity is dedicated to providing immediate, ...

he Help! album is the second soundtrack to a film as A Hard Days Night was before it. The first song is the title track which unless you can't stop listening to Britney Spears, you should know about whatever generation you are from. It's a Lennon song with a great melody and lyrics. A McCartney song follows next called 'The Night Before' which has a good beat to it. You've Got To Hide Your Love Away is a great Lennon song which prior to buying this album i had never heard, however it very quickly grew on me. I Need You is one of two Harrison songs on Help! It makes great use of a tone pedal guitar. Another McCartney number is Another ...

Help. In the words of John Lennon. Nearly all Beatle fans today realise that this was a song coming from deep within. It was John Lennon's cry for an escape from the dark, frightening Beatle mania that had enwrapped the four of them and suffocated them so much that John Lennon felt he couldn't breathe. He wrote a song expressing his inner most feeling then the world came along and decided to create one of the weirdest films of all time. He must have felt crushed that no one was listening, or possibly relieved that no one had opened him up like a book with deep analysis. As an album, to me, each track feels like a continuous plea for ...
