This really is a great album from a band generally regarded as a true "Supergroup". I would call their style of music as soft rock or maybe pop rock although there are some tracks on this album such as "Albatross" and "The Chain" that are a million miles away from any sort of generic description of genre because they are so unique. The stupendously fantastic guitar solo near the end of "The Chain" was for many years the theme tune to the BBC's television coverage of Formula 1 Motor Racing. Don't expect the airy, whimsical sounds of the later years but do expect the imaginative, bluesy, innovative songs that made them so distinctive.
