Advantages: catchy, cheap

Disadvantages: couple of songs im not keen on

For those that dont know, High school musical is a very popular film series for children and some adults these days. I am going to review the soundtrack CD for the 2nd film.

In my opinion, I find this CD to contain the most popular songs as opossed to the other two films, they are well written and some are quite witty and amusing.
In total, their are 11 tracks, featuring the most popular tracks of the film. They are all sung by the cast members involved in that particular song on the film and are very catchy.

Now to review each track in order:

1) What time is it?

This is a very well known High School Musical song and is quite well known to those who have not even seen the film. I know i certainly knew it before I watched them! It is very upbeat and catchy andis sung by all the cast members. It is also the first track sung on the film.

2) Fabulous:

Sung by the films 'it' girl Sharpay Evans, she sings about how her life is perfect etc. It also features her brother Ryan Evans and is a witty song and very sharpay-esque. Upbeat.

3) Work this out:

This has got to be my favourite track on this soundtrack, I love how the lyrics really fit in with the film in that point of time. Also features all of the cast. Must see video also.

4) You are the music in me:

I dont like this track as much, mainly because its quite slow. however, the lyrics are really nice so can see why people do enjoy it. it is sung by the two man charactors Troy and Gabriella (Zac efron and Vanessa Hudgens). Its very much a lovey dovey song for couples.

5) I dont dance:

This is a track about a typical jock guy who is ashamed to get into his dancing side, its a really catchy track and is performed mainly by Chad and Ryan (Sharpays Brother). Brilliant track, one of my favorites.

6) You are the music in me (Sharpay Version)

A much better version of the song in my opinion. More upbeat and amusing to listen too, especially Troys parts as they go very high. I prefer this version.

I managed to pick up this CD in HMV for £4 though it was on offer. It canbe bought on sites such as PLAY.COM for around the same price.

7) Gotta go my own way:

Performed by Gabriella, another love type song, not very interesting and seems to go on for ages.

8) Bet on it:

Another one of my favorites, performed by Troy on his own. Good lyrics and well sung. Its a nice mix between fast and slow but is another really catchy track.

9) Everyday:

This is the song performed in a talent show a the end of this film. It is sung mainly by Troy and Gabriella but the whole cast join in as well. Quite a nice track to listen too. Not fast however.

10) All for one:

An upbeat catchy one for the end of the album, whole cast performance, could ave better lyrics but is okay.

11)Humuhumunukunukuapua'A:

Very much a tongue twister song, took a whie to learn the lyrics but is from a deleted scene in the film. Sung by Sharpay and Ryan. Sounds like a Hawiian sttyle track and is quite amusing.

Overall, I really like this soundtrack, its very catchy and a must have for all fans. Ive got friends listening to it who haven't even seen High School Musical! Definatly the best of the 3 albums.
