If you have not purchased the first two offerings from BMG then this is a great album to get your hands on but as I have said beware if you have the first two there is little point in buying this.

Elvis fans have for years been targeted by companies seeking to make a fast buck from our love of the king and the record company BMG are the latest in a long line to try these tactics. A few years ago they released an album called 30 #1 HITS which they claimed at the time was the complete ultimate collection of Elvis`s best tracks. Due to its success they soon followed it up with an album entitled 2nd to None, so if it was second to none then I guess they lied about how good the first one was! HITSTORY is an interesting Elvis Presley release. A few years back Elvis' record company BMG released a compilation album called 30 #1 HITS which is a fantastic collection of songs and did very well as far as sales go. They followed this up the following year with another collection, called 2ND TO NONE, which again did very well. Originally I expected that HITSTORY was going to be a similar kettle of fish, but instead BMG came up with the idea of packaging the previous two albums together, with an additional 3rd disc of recordings, and call it HITSTORY.
