Hold On Now Youngster - Los Campesinos

After my friends recommended Los Campesinos! to me i found them to be a brilliant band, composing of 7 members who play a fairly wide variety of instruments and combine this with witty lyrics. After hearing their second album, 'We Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed' and seeing them live i still believe that this, their first album contains some of the best songs they have produced. From the short catchy 'My Year In Lists' with lyrics such as 'Nothing says 'I miss you' quite like war poetry carved in your door with a Stanley knife' to the long 'You!, Me!, Dancing!' with its catchy chorus and long intro. Cardiff, Wales-based septet Los Campesinos! (yes, the exclamation mark is necessary) have been making waves on the indie scene of late with their chirpy, fast-paced, pop culture-referencing and densely-backed variety of indie pop.
