      Disadvantages

      Solid album from 112.

Hot & Wet is the fourth album to be released by the r&b group 112. It was released on Bad Boy Records and Def Soul Classics in 2003.

As a follow-up to the massively successful album Part III, this is far from great. Its difficult not to compare the two albums as they are by the same artist and, as most artists try to make their next album better than their last, I would say this was a failure. I'll do my best to look at this as a stand alone album and not compare it to their previous work.

      Tracklist:

      1 Intro - Medley
      2 It's Goin' Down 2Nite (featuring T.I.)
3 Hot and Wet (featuring Ludacris)
      4 Unbelievable
      5 Everyday
      6 I Belong to U (Interlude)
      7 Right Here for U
      8 All My Love
      9 You Said
      10 Knock U Down (Interlude)
      11 Knock U Down
12 Hot and Wet (Remix featuring Ludacris & Chingy)
13 Na Na Na Na (featuring Super Cat)
      14 Give It to Me
      15 Slip Away
      16 Say Yes
      17 Man's World

I want to start of the actual review by saying that this is a very good album, there are some well produced and performed tracks with some very catchy hooks. However, it is seriously lacking the 'wow' factor or any obvious singles that could be a hit. The two songs from this album that were released as singles are 'Na, Na, Na' and 'Hot & Wet', which, to be fair, are probably two of the strongest tracks on there and, seeing as they both had featured artists (Super Cat and Ludacris respectively) would probably appeal to more people than the other r&b tracks. On that basis, I'm surprised that 'It's Goin Down 2Nite' wasn't put out as a single as it features T.I. who, at that time, was just starting to make his name.

The majority of this album is made up of 112's typical slow-jam style love songs such as 'All My Love' and 'Say Yes' but also some nice club tracks like 'Unbelievable' (which I'm surprised wasn't released as a single).

Overall, this is a solid album which, in it's own right deserves alot of credit but, in comparison to their earlier stuff, if nowhere near as great as it should be.

Three stars seems to harsh but four seems too generous. 3 and a half would be perfect.
