Yet Funeral For A Friend did not fail to impress with this brilliant mixture of grinding yet tuneful guitars and heartfelt vocals from Matt Davies. It's almost impossible not to start headbanging to the ridiculously catchy "Roses for the Dead". From the opening intro with an arpeggiated tapped guitar, you'll be truly mesmerized. Premium Review Hours: Parental Advisory - Funeral For A Friend: Roses For The Dead (804 words)

Rating:

Funeral For A Friend released their 'Hours' album in June 2005. It was about this time that I saw the band headline at the first held 'Give it a Name' festival and after emptying out of the Alexandra Palace the streets were riddled with posters advertising the release of this album. With thousands of people having just watched the band perform live, it should come as no surprise that the posters did not last long and were soon snapped up by the bands legions of fans. The guerilla tactics used to promote this album increased my interest in it no end, and as soon as the album was released I rushed straight out there and bought it. I was not as impressed with the album as I ...  Read the complete review

The album "hours" by "funeral for a friend" was released in 2005 and is by far my favourite album by this artist. All the rage A great sounding first song to this album. Unlike some of the other songs on this album there is no screaming or whining in it at all. Streetcar I really enjoyed the original start to this song as it sound like a telephone ringing. This is one of funeral for a friends hit singles and it is not hard to see why. Although the song is really good, I felt the video to it was a bit of a let down. Roses for the dead Another hit single from this album, this song is ...  Read the complete review

Funeral For a Friend are a Welsh melodic metal and post hardcore band that have become one of Britain's finest offerings to the metal scene this side of the century. After their debut album "Casually Dressed & Deep in Conversation" released in 2003, the band set off to record their next album "Hours". They had a lot to live up to - taking in to account that their previous release had 3 top-twenty hits. Yet Funeral For A Friend did not fail to impress with this brilliant mixture of grinding yet tuneful guitars and heartfelt vocals from Matt Davies. Gave something to the eager fans; four well-chosen tracks Incomplete view of the upcoming release; too simplistic; the band have become a Judas Priest clone

Fun beats, differnt to anything else out there will offend some people

Thunder's most mature album, musically and lyrically Thunder's last album

Kamelot's best, perfecting the symphonic metal style with an engaging lyrical concept. Ballads are still pretty boring.

Some good power metal songs; an interesting instrumental Lacks originality; a disappointment
