Leaving behind the turbulent nineties, King Diamond enter the twenty-first century with a bold new album, exploring the contemporary theological argument that Christ never died on the cross. It isn't an original proposal, but it's certainly a lot more thoughtful and intriguing than the band's usual lyrical fare, which most famously deals with the ghosts of children and mad, tea-drinking grandmas. Anyone previously deterred by King Diamond's silliness will be pleasantly surprised here.
