Advantages: middleman, and the hidden track

Disadvantages: um....

This is my favourite Terrorvision album. Because I like it sooooo much, I am going to have to write about most songs on it, including the hidden track, did you know about that?

ALICE WHAT’S THE MATTER
Alice, what is the matter? Did anyone ever ask the poor girl? The song is a fantastic starting track for the album. It contains good guitar work, but isn’t too adventurous on the capacity of lyrics (Alice what’s the matter x 8…and repeat)
However, it is pure Terrorvision, and is a good song, ,so why criticise it?

OBLIVION
Perhaps the most successful song of the album. It is pop-ie rock, and is soo catchy, you will catch yourself singing ‘doowap, do ba doowap’ at the bus stop. A fantastic song, and my second to favourite on the album.

MIDDLEMAN
My favourite song on the album. Also my favourite song by Terrorvision through all 11 years that they have been around. It contains good guitar by Mark Yates, good drumming by Shutty, good bass work by Leigh Marklew and exceptional singing by Tony Wright. The lyrics are ‘nice’ and I think they are lovely, especially to sing along to. I would say that this is almost a Ballard, but comparing it to ‘Some People Say’, also on the album, it doesn’t come close. I really, really love this song.

PRETEND BEST FRIEND
Another successful song by Terrorvision, and has, yet again, good riffs and a good video. And yeah, before you ask, I did have a pretend best friend, and so I can relate to the damn song…d’oh!

SOME PEOPLE SAY
Oooooh, I cried when I saw the video to this song. It’s really sad and I think it is really deep and I love this song too, ‘do you think I care?’
I’ll just write a little bit of it out, ‘cause I like it sooo much!
“Some people say that what I know should be kept secret
Some people say I don’t know anything at all,
Some
people say that what I do could be dangerous,
Some people say I don’t do anything at all…”

Just reading the lyrics don’t do the song justice, and I really, really think you should check this album out, as it is fantastic!

HIDDEN TRACK
No, it isn’t music, it is the group when they were on holiday. They have got themselves a little recorder and go around talking and recording people when they were in New York. I suspect that they did this when they were filming the video for Oblivion, as it was filmed in New York, all that time ago…
