When Brandy returned to the music scene in the Autumn of 2008 after a break of nearly four years, nobody knew quite what to expect. Would she address the car crash in which she was a part, and which caused a woman's death? Would she ignore it, in the way that singers often do, and carry on partying? The resulting album, Human, is something of a balance, though as the title suggests, there's an emphasis on emotions, if no direct addressal of the accident. After a period spent apart during the recording of 2004's much-acclaimed 'Afrodisiac' album, Brandy reunites with long-time collaberator Rodney 'Darkchild' Jerkins on 'Human'; he produces some seven of the ... 'Human' is R&B singer Brandy's fifth album released in 2008. The popular tracks off this album include 'Departed' which was the main single released and 'Long Distance' which is the other single and of course 'Human' by which the album is titled... First track on the album is the 'Human Interlude' which consists of a short intro to the album which says 'What I feel being a human being is, is having the freedom to be yourself and not being afraid...' This seems to be the basis of the album as it has a lot of emotional thoughts and feelings in it that some may find easy to relate to.. Human sees Brandy's first real foray into the music business since Aphrodisiac four years ago and whilst it's not quite the RnB heaven of some of her earlier work it remains a romantic, thoughtful, intelligent and engaging album about pain, redemption and love. Brandy reaches a new maturity on the album; crafting songs that actually mean something with her trademark, husky vocals and some stunning production values. Over the past four years Brandy has had her marriage revealed as a shame, been in a car accident which resulted in a tragic death and left her long-time record contract and she channels this heartache into some of the albums more lyrical tunes. ... Products similar to Human - Brandy
Wasteland - Atargatis
Strong leading vocal performance and adequate variation.
Music is secondary to the singing, and doesn't do a lot to impress.
Violent By Nature - Atrophy
Quite good thrash with crazy Megadeth solo frenzies.
Lacks originality or distinctiveness, and starts off on the wrong foot.
The Silhouette - Ava Inferi
Pretty and nasty gothic metal, with an excellent vocal performance.
Songs tend to over-run, and become repetitive and similar.
Spit Blood - The Atomic Bitchwax
Technically accomplished stoner rock that knows when to take it easy.
Some instrumentals are less inspired than others.
Remember Tomorrow - Attic
First song will make some people happy for a few minutes.
Remixes are bad, boring and pointless.
Ptahil - Atrium Carceri
Incredibly atmospheric.
There is nothing else.
Hymn Till Hangagud - Allegiance
Entertainingly violent black metal from excellent performers.
Viking themes and musical elements are a little stereotypical for connoisseurs.
Doom Of Destiny - Axxis
Accessible power metal with some interesting operatic touches.
Perhaps not experimental enough.
Agitation - Am I Blood
For undiscerning thrash fans.
Testament-lite, ten years too late.
Acts Of God - At War With Self
Intriguing progressive/psychedelic rock.
At times too difficult, and at others too dull.
