HUMBUG is the title of British indie rock band ARCTIC MONKEYS' album. The album contains 10 tracks which I will review. The opening song MY PROPELLER is a fast paced starter with a cracking intro where the guitar is electric. The vocals are energetic and the chorus is catchy. CRYING LIGHTNING features some wonderful melodies that flow along with the vocals which are on fine form. The lyrics are good while the rhythm is quick. DANGEROUS ANIMALS has a terrific intro and an even better finale. The chorus is excellent while the vocals are full of vigour that carries the melodies along. SECRET DOOR is a more mellow track with ... Read the complete review

Sitting here listening to Sheffield based band Arctic Monkey's 3rd studio album I can't help but feel surprised once more at the amount they have changed their sound. Their 2nd album "Favourite Worst Nightmare" saw the laddish songs that made them so loved in the first place disappear. This proved they weren't just a fad as they changed their sound considerably yet Alex Turner continued to churn out amazing lyrics and vocals with well written music heavily utilising Matt Helders great drumming ability. Humbug once again evolves the sound of the Arctic Monkeys making more use of Nicholson's bass guitar and Alex Turner seems to believe the lyrics in this album ... Read the complete review

In 2009 came the third Arctic Monkeys' album "Humbug". The album features the Sheffield-based Alternative Rock band (who use elements of Psychedelic Rock, Post-Punk, and Indie) coming up with more fresh material to show progression from past material as they try out even more things in their music to assist and aid them in getting to where they are aiming for. 1. "My Propeller" I can't say that I felt that the album got off to the best start as you find that they lay down a tune that doesn't particularly do a lots and although you can see, through the way things are played and the like that they are keeping to a format that ... As a huge fan of Arctic Monkeys, upon hearing about the release of their new, third album, "Humbug", I was extremely excited. I hoped for an album with a fun, bouncy beat, similar to their first album "Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not". However, I doubted this would be what Humbug contained, due to the somewhat more serious content of the second album. Alex Turner's venture to Last Shadow Puppets, who produced a darker, sombre album, led me to think the third Monkey's album would be similar. I think my predictions were fairly correct. Humbug does have a dark tone. It's generally slower, softer music, with a menacing suggestion ... Read the complete review

Hambug released in June 2009 is the Arctic Monkeys 3rd studio album. Although they aren't bad at what they do, I've always thought that they were hugely overrated or maybe I was just missing something. So I decided to check out this album to see if I could see what all the hype surronding them was all about! I was expecting a rock/indie album with big guitar rifts and massive arena filling anthems. This album sounds nothing like this & is very diffierent from their previous two offerings. It has a much more chilled out vibe to it & sounds more like something lead single Alex Turner's other band, the Last Shadow Puppets would produce. On the ... Read the complete review
