Greatest Hits - Red Hot Chili Peppers
by utero - written on 24/11/03 (Very useful, 888 readings)
Rating:
strange to see a Greatest Hits package by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. After all they're probably in the midst of their biggest success right now. The Red Hot Chili Peppers were started in 1983 but it wasn't until the turn of the ninties when they found success. Blood Sugar Sex Magik shifted a lot of copies worldwide perhaps due in part to the grunge phenomenon but also because it was a great album with some great singles that good MTV play. This album kicks off with one of the Chili's most famous songs. 'Under The Bridge' has been covered since it's release but nothing tops the original. It?s a haunting song about drugs that sucks you before ...

Rating:
of the lyrics, which basically consist of “Take me to your Backwoods… now” for much of the song. True Men Don t Kill Coyotes (From: “The Red Hot Chili Peppers”) Bass opening again, strong tune, funky sound, and occasional soaring guitar solos, with an addictive whine. Kiedis adds his naturally weird lyrics: “Ridin’ wild on a paisley dragon, through the Hollywood Hills, yeah…” Fire (From: “The Abbey Road EP.”) Fast and furious Jimi Hendrix Cover, sounds like the original on speed. Get Up And Jump (From: “The Red Hot Chili Peppers”) One of the first songs ever penned by the ...

What Hits!? - Red Hot Chili Peppers

Rating:
compilation of the Chili Peppers early work previous to Blood Sugar Sex Magik, apart from the inclusion of Under the Bridge – no doubt there to bump sales up. The first track, Higher Ground, is funky version of Stevie Wonder’s song from Songs in the Key of Life, not what you would expect from the band who brought ...
