Linkin Park do not make the type of music that your grandma likes. And even amongst us 'young ones' they get a lot of slating. Some say they do nothing but shout and scream while others complain they rip off bands like Limp Bizkit. I always find it hard to classify music in to one genre and Linkin Park are no different. I would ... Read the complete review

The most interesting aspects of this album are that it does not seem to contain ANY swearwords, at least not the F word - surely a first for an album in this 'hybrid genre' or rock, metal, breakbeats and rap. Its likely that this was intentional, although you could say it will only add fuel to the fire that the only thing dangerous about ... Read the complete review

They called themselves Linkin Park so that when you go to buy the equally bad Limp Bizkit what should you see but Linkin Park just next to it. Now onto their music. They are basically a poor ... The last decade has seen a wide range of musical genres descend onto the UK charts, larger than perhaps any other period in time. Whether it be Pop, Rock, Dance or even Jungle, you can be assured that the genre in question has had at least one defining song which experienced some form of success in the mainstream commercial market. But generally ... Read the complete review

You insert the CD into your hi-fi, you press play. Suddenly the music starts. THUMP. The one who was listening is now unconscious on the floor, thrown to the ground by surprise – never in his dreams expecting to hear such incredible music. The fact is Linkin Park are new, different, exciting and growing in popularity. Their album ... Read the complete review

The band for 2001 has to be Linkin Park. Their debut album ‘Hybrid Theory’, released last year is a breath of fresh air for the rock music community. The band who site some of their influences as Deftones and Nine Inch Nails have combined elements from these bands but have added so much more using their extreme talent. The diversity ... Recently, the British charts have been overwhelmed by the return of Rock music, re-emerged as "nu-metal". The revolution has been headed by bands such as Papa Roach, Crazy Town and most famously, Limp Bizkit. Although not entering the charts as much as the previous trio, numerous other bands, whilst they have been around for a while, are ... Read the complete review

Linkin Park (Chester Bennington, Rob Bourdon, Brad Delson, Joseph Hahn, Mike Shinoda) are new on the rock scene with this their first album but they had a previous band called Hybrid Theory. Their music contains hip hop/rap/soft rock and hard rock. An ace combination of styles! I was introduced to their brilliant music when my sister (hakkved) ... Read the complete review

Linkin Park are a breath of fresh air in the fast stagnating rock scene. They have a mix of heavy guitars, sort rhythms, melodic vocals and rap lyrics. Their sound isn't the totally new being quite simalar to deftones, but there is a rap twist in many tracks that makes them different. On to the album itself. The albums kicks off on a great ... This cd is good. Maybe you didn't understand me. This cd is good. I've had enough of the usual pap we see on the charts or contstant thumping of club music which predominates radio stations, you can't imagine the relief I felt when I heard this band. On the rather late date of Febuary 15th, 2001, I waltzed into Virgin Megastore with the intention of making the purchase of Papa Roach - Infest. As I selected the special edition version, out of the corner of my eye I spotted a CD which caught my eye. Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory. I saw the video to the first single off Linkin Park’s first major label release, One Step Closer, on MTV2 and I was immediately hooked. Hybrid Theory- Linkin Park. This is a brilliant album, it a a unique blend of guitar, drums and decks, as well as the individual idea of two singers.
