I Started Out With Nothin' And I Still Got Most Of It Left - Seasick Steve

I first saw Seasick Steve on the Jools Holland Hogmanay Show a couple of years ago. Being impressed by his performance I decided to watch out for him in the future, the next I heard of him was when his song "Walkin Man" was on the Radio 2 playlist. Liking this song I decided to buy this album which at around £5 was worth it for the "Walkin Man" track alone. The album is classfied in the genre "Country" but this brings to mind artists like Kenny Rodgers , Waylon Jennings etc. this definitely not what it is ,if anything it is more Blues based. Hmmm, now why did I buy this? You will see from all my other reviews, that this is not really the kind of stuff I like. I generally do not like country. In fact the closest thing to this kind of music that I can tolerate is the O Brother Where Art Thou soundtrack and Ben Harper. But this album was recommended to me by a friend and I really must thank that friend! The album is about a guy (Seasick Steve) telling his kids about his experiences of being down and out.
