Advantages: Well priced , well produced, east listening.

Disadvantages: none to mention

I first saw Seasick Steve on the Jools Holland Hogmanay Show a couple of years ago. Being impressed by his performance I decided to watch out for him in the future, the next I heard of him was when his song "Walkin Man" was on the Radio 2 playlist. Liking this song I decided to buy this album which at around £5 was worth it for the "Walkin Man" track alone. The album is classfied in the genre "Country" but this brings to mind artists like Kenny Rodgers , Waylon Jennings etc. this definitely not what it is ,if anything it is more Blues based.

The album tells the story of Seasick Steve's experiences in life from the time he left home in his teens to live rough around the Southern States of America. All the songs relates to what you would imagine the different aspects of the life of Hobo's life to be, from the Railway Yards , drinking, finding places to sleeep etc. The majority of the songs have an introduction which set the scene and are generally amusing. Although the subject matter could point towards an album that is full of sad songs ,this is not your "dogs left you", "wifes died" country type of album.

The last track includes a story that lasts for almost thirteen minutes, this gives an insight of the type of existence Steve had and compliments the lyrics throughout the album very well.

This is one on my best buy albums with tracks that are a tuneful, finger tapping, foot tapping collection with that wonderful touch of the Blues.

Summary: A wonderful addition to any music collection
