my other review for their ingeniously titled The Album, I felt it my duty to warn you of a similar album which exists by the same band. The Hermes House Band are best given a wide berth. They mean well, but the music is just horrendous. Highlights Well there aren t any, so the review will be rather scathing. Live Is Life means little and is quite rousing, but even the apperance of chubby DJ Otzi cannot save it from being a pile of eurotrash. The song was popular abroad, yet failed to make the top forty over here. Album - Hermes House Band

The Hermes House Band are not widely discussed in the UK, which is possibly because they have only ever had one hit single, that being Country Roads. They went to great lengths to come up with a creative album title, settling in the end for The Album. Highlights Country Roads is on here, think of a hoedown, think Woolpackers doing the Hillbillyrock and you re on the right track. The vocals are fine, the sentiment is sweet but the song is very novelty. You might want to play it at the end of the night to round off a disco. Their take on I Will Survive succeeds in zapping every ounce of soul the original ever had. It sounds like they put the whole thing together ...
