... songs on the album has to be "Wake Me Up Before You Go Go." This was their first number one hit. It's such an upbeat, happy song and is so much fun to sing and dance too. My other favourite song on the album is one of the best Christmas songs in my opinion, "Last Christmas." It's on just about every Christmas compilation album that you c an buy. This song came out in 1984 and was written by George Michael. In fact he wrote quite a lot of the songs on this album, I guess proving that he is more than j...more

WHO WERE WHAM? ------------------------------ Lasting a mere three and a half years between November 1982 and June 1986, they were a duo consisting of Andrew Ridgeley and someone called George Michael. Ably assisted by Pepsi and Shirley on backing vocals, David Austin (keyboards) and Deon Estus (bass) they scored ten top ten hits during their tenure as the kings of pop in the mid-80's. Pepsi and Shirley went onto have minor success in 1987 with Heartache, Deon Estus turned up on a soul compilation called Heart And Soul in 1988 and in the same year Andrew Ridgeley scored his only chart entry with Shake (it reached number 57). George Michael, meanwhile, last year ...  Read the complete review

I own a nice little hairbrush and a nice big mirror that I can sing infront of. I have a lovely little CD player that has great volume on it too so it can drown out my voice because I cant sing. Yes you guessed I love my music. I have a thing about greatest hits albums, I seem to collect them. Some people go for stamps well I love greatest hits. Its no longer full of fillers but instead is the ultimate killer album. That’s exactly what this is, it wakes me up before my coco and it is everything that she wants. I love my Wham! The 80’s duo released this in 1997. I got it this week when a friend got it for me. My cd wants list is so long that ...  Read the complete review

At Club Tropicana drinks are free. Wham the greatest hits collection is entitled, If You Were There, The Best of Wham. It's one of my feel good CD's, awfully tacky and fun but great to sing along to. It was released in 1997 and got to number 4 on the UK charts. Wham were a duo made up of George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley. They formed way back in 1981, gosh I was barely alive at that point and had success as a dancec/pop act. They were teenagers when they formed the group and so came across as hedonistic youngsters, proud to live a carefree life without work or commitment. I guess I really got into Wham years later when I was a bit older ...  Read the complete review

I can’t really say that I was a big Wham! Fan when they were originally around – I mean I was 4 years old when they released Young Guns in 1982! However, Wham! songs always seem to turn at most of the night-clubs I go to (I know what you’re all thinking – what sad, cheesy, places does he go to….). So recently, whilst browsing through the auctions at ebay.co.uk, I stumbled across a Wham greatest hits CD – ‘If You Were There’ – and it was at a bargain £2.20! It did have a couple of days left on the auction, but I managed to win it at the cool price of £2.80 plus P&P. I must admit that this CD is a ...  Read the complete review

I was a huge Wham fan back in the day and my first album I ever bought was Freedom. I was not so fanned up though that I felt suicidal when they split up but when I saw this album a few years ago I thought I had to buy it to relive my teenage years and see if I still liked all the songs. Here is the playlist: 1. If you were there 2. I'm your man 3. Everything she wants 4. Club Tropicana 5. Wake Me Up Before you Go-Go 6. Like a Baby 7. Freedom 8. The Edge of Heaven 9. Wham Rap! 10. Young guns (go for it!) 11. Last Christmas 12. Where did your heart go? 13. Everything she wants ...  Read the complete review
