Advantages: Lots of very good songs
Disadvantages: Not an album than you can listen to over and over again
Immersion is the third studio album by drum and bass band Pendulum. Pendulum are from Australia and formed in 2002.
The first time I listened to this album I was very impressed as individually all the songs or very good, Witchcraft and Watercolour are two of my personal favourites, but when I listened to the album a few more times I found all the songs beginning to sound very similar. However, I don't want to be too critical because if you listen to the songs on the album on there own they are very, very good.
The song Self Vs Self featuring Swedish melodic death metal band In Flames was one the really intrigued me. When I first read that drum and bass band Pendulum would be teaming up with death metal band In Flames i was quite suprised and wasn't really sure what to expect. However, when i heard it I was shocked at how well it worked and I think it is a great song; hopefully this will inspire the two bands to work together more.
Overall, Immersion is definitely an improvement on previous album In Silico as it goes back to the more drum and bass style music, but when you've listened to the whole album a few times it does begin to get a bit boring and all the songs start to sound the same.
Summary: A good album to listen to a few times or if you just listen to a few songs of it but not a classic
