After departing from the PWL stable, Kylie Minogue signed with Deconstruction and released the self-titled Kylie Minogue album in 1994, which saw her experiment with a more adult and mature pop sound. Following that, came this even more experimental album in 1997, Impossible Princess. Here we saw Miss Minogue take charge of her music properly and have a huge input into the writing and production process. THE ALBUM: 1. TOO FAR: The album opens with a very credible, leftfield dance sounding track with strings, which is very effective. One of my best albums from Kylie Minogue is Impossible Princess. Most creative album shes ever done. Impossible Princess marked Kylie's biggest step away from her bubblegum pop roots and further into the indie scene, and aimed to cement her as a creative talent behind her music, with the album primarily written by herself and taking a direction she had far more control over, breaking the mould people had set her in. Personal lyrics, a different, edgy musical style and stripped back image meant Impossible Princess would be a whole new chapter for Kylie Minogue, and it didn't disappoint in that respect.
