Hindsight. It's such a wonderful thing, isn't it? Britney's breakdown unfolding in front of the world's watchful eyes has been the topic of conversation amongst Heat readers for the last couple of years. The head shaving, the custody case, the loopy manager... But those with a sharp enough eye could have seen it coming back in 2005 when she released this album. I have to say, I am extremely surprised that it has taken me so long to review this in particular album, it being by my favourite ever artist. Yes, this particular CD, “In The Zone” is by the one, the only, Miss Britney Spears. Or Mrs Britney Federline? What is one to cal her these days? Anyway, regardless of name and title and despite the recent unjust accusations that Britney has “let herself go” (not at all, she is a full-time mother not a clothes horse!) Britney will always be a star in my eyes. Britney Spears has a lot to answer for, that?s all I can say. Thanks to her, I have been subjected to bubblegum pop emerging at full blast from my sister?s bedroom for...well, longer than I care to remember. Thank heaven, we now have a larger house and she is actually on a different floor although this does not prevent the odd happy chord floating down the stairwell.
