I'm not a fan, but this album's not bad!(not excellent, either......) (In This Skin - Jessica Simpson)

Advantages: Some good, sing-along songs!

Disadvantages: Some bad , repetitive songs...

I must say, I'm not a fan of Jess, 'cause I think she's, though very funny, also annoying on Newlyweds. No wonder how Nick married her...But anyway, she's got that blonde magic that makes you love her, and even kinda like her music(which is average, not good or bad).In this review I'm gonna divide the album in two: good tracks and bad ones:

***+good songs+***:

a.-Angels: This is a cover of Robbie Williams' song, and I think she's topped his. It's more acoustical and soulful, and very sing-along and easy to keep in mind for hours.

b.-With You(normal and acoustic version): This one's good in both versions, it's up-tempo and very happy and sing-along. It talks about Jess and how she feels with her man.

c.-Take My Breath Away: This is another cover,this time from old band Berlin, and both versions sound almost the same. They're both very quiet and pacific, and Jess' one really shows her fantastic and beautiful voice.

d.-My Way Home: This the weirdest song I've ever heard, but it's cool. It features a LOT of sound effects and a 15-second-long shout from Jess, that is something you HAVE to listen to.

e.-Sweetest Sin: This is the sexiest song in the album, it talks about making love, but at least in an actually loving way, not like other sultry songs...*cough*Britney Spears*cough*.It's a very shallowing song, anyway, it will hipnotize and soothe you.

f.-In This Skin: The last of the good song, this one's up-tempo (something strange in Jessica's albums), very sing-along and happy, and talks about how she feels so good with herself (who wouldn't!!!). It features a kinda rocking and shouty part which is a great complement for this song.

***-bad songs_***:

a.-The rest of the songs: I Have Loved You-Be-Forbidden Fruit-You Don't Have To Let Go-Everyday See You-Underneath-Loving You

They all sound the same: sad, boring, repetitive and tasteless, just like her reality show. BUT if you like classical music, these ones are for you.

Overall, it's an average album, buy it if you liked previous ones.

Summary: Half good, half bad. If you are really a fan then it shouldn't be horrible.
