Advantages: some good songs
Disadvantages: too poppy,
In with the out crowd was the sixth studio album released by the ska punk band Less Than Jake. It was released in 2006, three years after the release of anthem which was a massive success and an album which I hold as the best less than jake album released.
The first song off this album is soundtrack of my life, it's a pretty good song however the first thing I notice when listening to this is that it's a bit pop like compared to a lot of their older songs, this is something I don't like much but apart from that it's a good song.
Another great song off this album is landmines and landslides, one of the best songs off the album, again its not as punk as a lot of their older stuff but its still very well written and it has a catchy chorus as well as some very well written and well sung versus too.
The rest of my life was actually written as a tribute to one of the friends of the band who died so as you can imagine its not the happiest sounding song, never the less this doesn't mean its not a great song, its very well written, some of the best lyrics iv heard the band do and its sung with so much passion as well.
The album ends with ps shock the world, there has been very little ska on the album up until this point and even this isn't a full blown less than jake ska song, its just a little slow and it never really gets going properly.
1. Soundtrack of My Life
2. Still Life Franchise, A
3. Overrated (Everything Is)
4. Fall Apart
5. In-Dependence Day
6. Don't Fall Asleep on the Subway
7. Landmines and Landslides
8. Rest of My Life, The
9. Mostly Memories
10. Let Her Go
11. Hopeless Case
12. P.S. Shock the World
All together I was kind of disappointed with this album, don't get me wrong it does have some really great songs but mostly they are average and this is from a band that is totally nothing like average. However I guess that after an album like anthem it must have been hard to try and top it.
Summary: not as good as their old stuff
