Detonator - Ratt

Rating:
sound pure glam rock naughtiness. The lyrics are, of course, all about innuendo. The music is heavy and impressive. Although it is one of the very few power ballads R Ratt has ever performed, "Givin Yourself Away" is still quite heavy. The lyrics are about a woman still in love with a man but denying her feelings, which could have made the song into a sappy love tune. However, Ratt managed to keep it from going down that route by making it just heavy enough to rock, while keeping it just mellow enough to still be a love song. Out Of The Cellar - Ratt
by Jarisleif - written on 05/02/12 (Very useful, 11 readings)
Rating:
line-up for the album was Stephen Pearcy (vocals), Warren DeMartini (guitar), Robbin Crosby (guitar), Juan Croucier (bass) and Bobby Blotzer (drums). While maintaining a hair metal image, R Ratt deepens the sound of their music with a harder quality that makes them more substance than fluff. All the songs on this album are pure 80 s, yet very few of them have a dated feel to them. Stephen Pearcy s unique vocal sound stands out in the vast sea of musicians. "Wanted Man" is heavy and edgy with a slow tempo. The intro is very heavy, then the song slows down just a fraction before building again. The chorus is easy to sing along to, in true 80 s style. With an ...
Out Of The Cellar - Ratt

Rating:
Out of the Cellar is R Ratt s 1984 album and their first real album despite the fact they had first got together back in 76. This is possibly the best album ever to come out of San Diego! Ratt s glam metal style is fun and not to serious, they write songs for boys about fun subjects and have an anthem sound to the choruses which often contain instant lyrical winners like "She Wants Money" or "I m Insane". The different individual styles of both guitarists ensure that your ears will ring with a maze of solos that weren t highly rated at the time but are now considered to be the essential ingredient to this classic 80s metal album. The cover is a bit ...
