Advantages: amazing music

Disadvantages: why aren't they made like this any more???

This was the 1st IM album and boy is it a good one.

Paul Dianno sung (he only sung on 2 albums, so stuff with him on is scarce!) and although people regard Bruce Dickinson (the 2nd singer) as the best the Dianno era is well worth a listen. It is a bit "punkier" than the slicker Bruce stuff, but still very melodic.

This album is stuffed with great music. It is a testament to the album that even today IM finish all their concerts with songs from this album - namely Sanctuary, Iron Maiden and Running Free. I am surprised the heads haven't dropped off the headbangers over the years as they are amazing songs and a fantastic end to what are always great gigs.

My personal favourate is Phantom of the Opera. Words cannot describe this awesome piece of music - buy the album for this song alone!!!!
