Advantages: It's The Wall!
Disadvantages: Price
This is Pink Floyd's live version of The Wall and it's excellent. Culled from concerts staged between 1980 and 1981, this is the best of those concerts, presented in a seamless collection of songs in the same order as the original studio album. Why it's taken so long for them to release this, I'm not sure, but this edition is presented in a lavish set comprising of the two CDs, plus a 78 page full colour glossy book, with loads of pictures and a history of the album. The book also includes interviews with people prominently involved with the project, including members of the band. The Wall is my favourite album of all time, and this version contains some little extras which make it just that little bit different from the original. I suppose that it would be fair to say that this album is for true fans only, but it's one I'm glad I've got in my collection. PS - I believe that this album has now been re-released in a cheaper, less lavish version.

OtisSlam - 15.10.00 Harmonizer, I think I get what your saying there, but I'm not sure!!
This live compilation is a very extensive collection which probably goes some way to explain why it took so long to compile and release. Also, I think the release was timed to coincide with the original album's 20th aniversary. |
