... breakthrough album however and with this 'Issues' release the bands lead vocalist Jonathan Davis all too often sings about celebrity life here. The band here mocks the fickleness of fame, I'm sure they loved the money really; they just didn't want the fan to know that. Speaking of fans, the lyrics also give a special mention to them, and how the band hated having to be nice to their fans when fame came; charming. Basically the lyrics portray the bands inflating egos at this stage, fame and fortune had recently come for Korn ...more

Premium Review Issues - Korn: Falling Away From Me (599 words)
by - written on 29/06/08 (Very useful, 23 readings)
Rating:

'Issues' is the overrated fourth album from Korn; an album which marked a move away from the genre of nu-metal for the band. The music contained within this album possesses an alternative metal sound, it was quite an interesting move in sound for the band but 'Issues' has never been one of my personal favourites from the Korn back-catalogue. The album possesses a total of sixteen tracks and was released through Epic Records in November 1999; just 18 months after third album 'Follow the Leader'. The 'Issues' album possesses a total of 49 minutes of music; the actual run time of the album is 53 minutes, with the final four minutes of closing track 'Dirty' though all that ...  Read the complete review

Alright, guys, we get it. Like Prince's Dirty Mind or Pantera's Power Metal, you're pretty much laying it out on the table with that album title. And, as if we didn't know enough about singer Jonathan Davis' ""struggles,"" we're gonna have them ""dealt with"" on this new album. Well, let me be the first to say that we -- meaning everyone in the world except Korn -- don't really care about your ""issues,"" your ""problems,"" or the general welfare of your psyche. Nope, don't care. Not a bit. What we do care about is whether or not the new Korn album is ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Issues - Korn: Everyone has issues. Do you? (1772 words)

Issues, the most recent of the four KoRn albums. Released in 1999 it has all the great tunes you can expect from the great KoRn. Unlike all the other KoRn albums, the tracks on issues don't all have meanings and references to things in John’s life. The line up is as follows: Dead: Bagpipes with a drum beat behind them, no guitars. This 72-second track is just basically the band singing "all I want in life is to be happy" and thats basically what the meaning behind the song is. When ever something-good comes along something else comes and takes it away. Best lyric:"All I want in life is to be happy." Falling away ...  Read the complete review

After the success of follow the leader, korn were superstars. Everything was going well for them, so a year after the album they released " Issues " in November of 1999. To promote this album they done a gig in the New York Apollo the night before the release of the album. They played every track on the album to give the fans a taster of the album. Just the fact of that korn were bringing out a new album and that they are my best band made me buy this album, i got this on import from HMV and it cost me a straggering 21 pounds. This isnt korns best album but it is still stunning. Track Listing - - - - - - - - 1. Dead - - - ...  Read the complete review

Issues - Korn: To many issues to make it good (1211 words)

Korn really hasn't had a good album since “Life is peachy” and well “Issues” doesn’t live up to it either. Though a lot better than their last attempt it still isn’t by any means a good rock album. Ever since they became a regular at MTV their music has gotten softer and thus not good. It’s a shame how MTV has soften these bands. It’s not the bands fault that they are singled out nor is it MTVs fault but it’s hard to be how you were when the fell of all those fans are screaming at the songs you know aren't your best work. So you must produce more of them to keep your new fans happy but losing your old ones. ...  Read the complete review
